Life Is Fleeting
When I first started dreaming of writing a blog about my cats, it was going to be called “The Adventures of Christy & Daisy.” I was going to showcase all of the crazy things they do and pretty much how they were cheap therapy for me. That dream pretty much crashed and burned on June 11, 2019. Christy became suddenly ill that morning. We took her to the vet that afternoon and less than 15 minutes into the appointment, we were told she had heart failure and she was “on the edge.” There was no hope of a recovery. We left the vet’s office that afternoon with an empty crate. We left our furbaby behind. We were beyond heartbroken.
Christy was only 10 years old, which is pretty young for a cat. She was my therapist and best friend. She was gone too soon.
This sudden loss really drove home a crucial thing to remember about life. It is so temporary. Any of us can develop sudden heart failure. Any of us can be gone tomorrow. So treasure each day. Treasure each moment you are given. Give extra hugs. Laugh extra hard. Enjoy life. Oh and take as many naps as you can possibly fit in every day.
