Wild Blueberries
I was out walking around in the woods around my house when I noticed this bush that looked really similar to the blueberries bushes I planted on the other side of my house. This bush is about 1 foot high and right on the edge of the woods. I found some berries that look like blueberries, so I ate them. I mean, why not? The good news is they were indeed blueberries. They are the size of BBs. Good for a snack, but probably never enough to make jam or even have enough to save for tomorrow.
After I didn’t die, I did a little research and come to find out there are TONS of these bushes in the woods. These bushes are probably Hillside Blueberry/Lowbush Blueberry/Blue Ridge Blueberry. The majority of them do not have berries on them. We did have a late frost that took out most of the blooms on my planted, cultivated blueberry bushes. Maybe the frost killed the blooms on these plants as well. Also, I am a little late to the party, so the deer may have eaten a good many before I got to them as well.
